It Isn’t Easy Going Green

There is a lot to think about when starting an eco-friendly business. We found that it isn’t just a matter of finding some products and selling them. Actually, it is a confusing and imperfect landscape. Finding organic and sustainable clothing is not that hard. Finding eco-friendly clothes that are also stylish and comfortable is much more difficult. In addition to products, we found that there was much more to consider. For example, how do we stay environmentally-focused with packing slips, boxes, hang tags, marketing materials and everything else you might expect to come with your cool new clothes? Again, not as easy as you might think. As it turns out, you can’t get shipping boxes that are made from 100% recycled material in the US. Meeting shippers’ box strength requirements would make those boxes about a quarter-inch thick! We did find a supplier that uses between 60% and 70% recycled material, though, which is about the best percentage out there. Then we found a great, high-tech printing company that uses recycled, post-consumer paper and environmentally-friendly inks. They even power their operations with solar panels. We use them for all our hang tags, in-box information, marketing materials and other printed items.
We do everything we can to provide you with products that you will love and that are gentle on the earth throughout the process. Thank you for visiting.
